5212 – Current Regulated Power Supply

The 5212 is a 0-1A current-regulated 24 VDC power supply and display that is designed for use with Magtrol’s hysteresis brakes and clutches. It features a 10-turn current adjustment potentiometer and 3 selectable current ranges: 200 mA, 500 mA, and 1000 mA. A convenient built in panel meter displays the value of output current.

The 5212 is designed as a closed-loop power supply to provide smooth application of current throughout an entire range up to a maximum set point. By utilizing regulated current, fluctuations in brake torque caused by temperature changes within the brake coil are eliminated. Braking current can be controlled manually from the front panel using the 10-turn potentiometer. Alternatively, if remote operation is required, the 5212 can be controlled by an external source using the 0-5 VDC control input located on the rear panel.

Les freins à axe creux produits par Magtrol se composent de deux éléments: un ensemble stator/boîtier et un rotor. L'ensemble stator/boîtier est normalement monté dans la partie statique de la machine. Quand au rotor, il est fixé sur l'axe et tourne concentriquement à l'intérieur de l'ensemble stator/boîtier. Tant l'ensemble stator/boîtier que le rotor sont livrés avec des alésages, ainsi que des trous de fixation standard. Sur demande, des exécutions spéciales, adaptées aux besoins des clients, sont également disponibles. Il est cependant possible que certaines modifications telles que des alésages de plus grande dimension, réalisées sur les freins, aient des répercussions sur les caractéristiques de ceux-ci. Des accessoires tels que des flasques de montage, des alimentations, des courbes couple/courant et des variantes de frein fonctionnant avec des tensions d'excitation de bobine différentes, sont également disponibles.

Conditions d'utilisations

Remarques sur l'alignement

    • L'ensemble stator / boîtier et le rotor sont expédiés comme des éléments distincts.
    • Il est de la responsabilité du concepteur de la machine d’assurer le bon alignement des pièces du frein d'accouplement dans l'assemblage final.
    • Ces composants doivent être montés de telle sorte que la concentricité et la perpendicularité entre le rotor et le stator ne dépasse pas les tolérances spécifiées.

Information Complémentaire

A diamètre d’alésage standard, le couple de freinage réel à courant nominal sera normalement supérieur aux valeurs minimales garanties. Des diamètres d'alésage supérieurs peuvent être fournis, cependant, des réductions de performances apparaitront en fonction de l’augmentation de l’alésage. Toute modification d’un frein de grand diamètre doit être examinée en détail avec Magtrol avant de passer commande.
