Product Description

Magtrol’s DUAL TEST 7 is a state-of-the-art motor testing software for PC (Windows® XP sp3/7/8) based data acquisition. Used with a Magtrol Programmable Dynamometer Controller DSP7012, DUAL TEST 7 works on two channels independently with any Magtrol Dynamometer or In-Line Torque Transducer to help determine the performance characteristics of a motors under test. Up to 63 parameters are calculated and displayed utilizing DUAL TEST 7’s feature-rich testing and graphing capabilities.

An integral component of any Magtrol Motor Test System, DUAL TEST 7 performs curve tests in a manner best suited to the overall efficiency of the test rig. Written in LabVIEW™, DUAL TEST 7 has the flexibility to test a variety of motors in a multitude of configurations. The data generated from this user-friendly program can be stored, displayed and printed in tabular or graphical formats, and is easily imported into a spreadsheet.

Magtrol can also make custom modifications to the software to meet additional motor testing requirements.

  • Displays 63 Tested and Calculated Parameters: Torque, speed and auxiliary input are displayed from the DSP7012 Controller; amps, volts and watts from an (optional) power analyzer. Calculated values including horsepower, efficiency, power factor, output watts and time can also be displayed. Optional analog and digital inputs can also be displayed.
  • Three-Phase Power Analyzer Data Acquisition: Obtain data on each individual phase and/or the sum used in the chosen parameters (amps, volts, input watts and power factor).
  • Motor Shaft Direction Indicator: Indicates if the motor is turning clockwise or counterclockwise.
  • USB Interface : Computer interface USB2.0 available with DSP7012. Optional IEEE-488 or RS-232 can be added.
  • PID Adjustment Routines: Helps user adjust the system for ramp and step functions.
  • Graphing Capabilities: Display up to 5 test curves in a single graph; easy-to-read colored and labeled plots with several graph formatting options; manual or auto scaling.
  • Curve Fitting: A curve fitting routine can be applied to most motor test curves. Raw data and curve fit data can also be displayed simultaneously.
  • Save/Load Setup Function: Test procedure configurations may be stored and recalled using standard Windows® file structure

Applications

DUAL TEST 7—besides being well-suited for simulating loads, cycling the unit under test and motor ramping—is also ideal for production line, due to the full dual channels tests functions. Another time-saving feature, that engineering labs will benefit from, is the ability to duplicate tests and run them automatically. License Verification via Crypkey Casper E-Register

Casper eRegister provides automatic authorization of M-TEST 7 using serial numbers. With this solution, the customer pre-pays the license fee and is then provided with a serial number to automatically obtain a code to unlock M-TEST 7 via the Internet. Casper eRegister works 24/7/365, without human intervention.

Analog Input Measurement

Up to 128 thermocouples or analog sensors can be read and monitored during a motor test. Heat rise curves on the bearings, windings and housing of a motor can be performed and air flow/exhaust efficiencies can be measured with an air tool or internal combustion engine. M-TEST 7, with its complete dynamometer control, even allows for analog measurement while performing load simulation for duty cycle and life testing.

Applications

M-TEST 7—besides being well-suited for simulating loads, cycling the unit under test and motor ramping—is also ideal for production line and inspection applications, due to its pass/fail test function. Another time-saving feature that engineering labs will benefit from, is the ability to duplicate tests and run them automatically.                     [post_content] => Magtrol Models 5500 and 5501 are manually-operated switch boxes that permit the connection of up to three Magtrol Dynamometers to a single DSP7000 Dynamometer Controller. Use of the switch boxes facilitates quick and easy interfacing of multiple dynamometers without the necessity of disconnecting and reconnecting the brake and control cables. For Magtrol WB Eddy-current or PB Powder Brake Dynamometers, BOTH a 5500 AND a 5501 Switch Box are necessary. Magtrol HD or ED Hysteresis Dynamometers only require the 5500.

                    [post_content] => Magtrol Coupling Guards are easily removable and designed to mount in front of Magtrol HD Series Dynamometers. They are also available for some WB Series Dynamometers.

Coupling Guards help keep objects from vertical interference and aid in preventing accidental coupling contact during rotation. The guard length required will change according to the coupling size used with the dynamometer.

Magtrol Coupling Guards are not explosion proof and are not intended as protection against catastrophic coupling failure.

                    [post_content] => The TCBS Thermocouple Connection Barrier Strip provides a method of connection the data acquisition device, which is usually installed in the main console, to the device being monitored up to 3 meters away. All eight thermocouples pairs are bundled into a single cable and terminated in a die cast aluminum box with barrier strip jackets for easy connection.

Interconnection errors can be avoided by using the barrier strip with the relevant thermocouple extension or compensation material. The strips are marked to identify the alloy and polarity.

The box can be supplied with optional T-nuts for easy mounting to a T-slot table or Magtrol PT 25 Base Plate.
