Magtrol offers four different power supplies for its Hysteresis Brakes: Model 6100, Model 5200, Model 5210 and Model 5250.

Model 6100 Closed-Loop Speed Control/Power Supply
The 6100 is a durable, variable, closed-loop speed control power supply governed by an adjustable proportional/integral (PI) control algorithm for unsurpassed stability in its class. Designed to work with a Magtrol Hysteresis Brake that is specially fitted with a speed pickup, the 6100 functions as a power supply and also features an easy-to-read digital speed display.

Model 5200 Power Supply
The Model 5200 is a basic unregulated power supply that is designed for use with Magtrol's Hysteresis Brakes and Clutches. The 5200 is available in either 12, 24 or 90 VDC voltages, corresponding to the available hysteresis brake/clutch coil voltage options. Braking control is enabled via a 10-turn potentiometer and adjustment knob located on the front panel.
 

Model 5210 Current Regulated Power Supply
The 5210 is a current-regulated power supply and display that is designed for use with Magtrol's Hysteresis Brakes and Clutches. With regulated current, torque drift caused by temperature changes within the brake coil is eliminated. The 5210 is a solid-state control that provides smooth application of current from zero to maximum.

The 5210 is available in either 12, 24 or 90 VDC voltages, corresponding to the available hysteresis brake/clutch coil voltage options. Braking power can be controlled manually from either the 10-turn potentiometer and adjustment knob on the front panel, or externally from the 0-5 VDC input when remote operation is desired. An LCD readout conveniently displays the applied braking current.



Model 5250 Current Regulated Power Supply
The 5250 is an open frame, current-regulated power supply that is designed for use with Magtrol's Hysteresis Brakes and Clutches. With regulated current, torque drift caused by temperature changes within the brake coil is eliminated. The 5250 is a solid-state control that provides smooth application of current from zero to maximum. Braking control is enabled by either by a 10-turn potentiometer, or by an external 0-5 VDC control signal.
 

VM8 Proportional Amplifier/Controller
The VM8 Power Amplifier is used to supply and control power (up to 3 A) to Magtrol Hysteresis Brakes and Clutches. There are two modes possible:
  • Proportional Amplifier (control loop)
  • Proportional Controller to Set Up Control Circuits (for pressure, speed, etc.)
